My journey to becoming a Massage Therapist began when I met with my future instructor, Hope Bockus. During the interview process her dedication as both a therapist and instructor was apparent. I learned the technical aspects of massage in an environment of unending patience, support and camaraderie. If you choose to work with her, being of service and fulfilling client needs will become the essential elements in all you do. The philosophy behind BodySoul Spa and School was a match made in heaven for me. I am truly fortunate, as after completing the course, I have found a home at BodySoul and am in the process of building my clientele. Life after Massage School (Class of 2010)- I opened my own massage business in Enosburg Falls. The clients who I massaged in school, they followed me to my business and now they are my lifetime clients. The thing I like the most is that Hope is always there for you. Hope is a great teacher in school and out of school when your on your own. If you are stuck and need help or just want to talk business she is there to talk and help you. -Yes it can be hard sometimes on your own and you just want to give up or your scared to ask for help... My name is Jessica Paradee, I was lucky enough to be a part of the 2010-2011 class at BodySoul Massage School. I knew I wanted to attend massage school, I did not know how I was going to do it but I knew it had to happen. I discovered an ad looking for one more student to attend BodySoul Massage School, as well as participate in a work study program. This worked perfectly for me!!! The program was 10 months..... There is a lot to learn in 10 months. I never thought it was going to be easy and it wasn't but Hope was always there to help and encourage all of us along the way. I enjoyed everything about my experience at BodySoul. Working at the front desk gave me some insight on my new career path. I cannot wait to utilize my new found skills!!!! I truly believe I was meant to be a massage therapist. I have a full clientele with amazing clients and I love my job. I owe it all to BodySoul. I went into it thinking massage couldn't be that hard, that is the first lesson of many that I learned from BodySoul. You learn how much hard work and dedication and practice goes into being a massage therapist. With that came much respect for the practice and other therapist in the field. It was the most enjoyable hard work I’ve ever done. I enjoyed going to school and work every day, the environment is always so upbeat and positive and everyone has so much respect for each other. It is truly like no other work place I’ve been part of before. It is where I learned how important positive thinking and energy is in life and in our practice.
My life has been completely different. I am the happiest I’ve ever been and I’ve had more positive things happen to me in my career and my personal life. One being that I was offered a position at BodySoul after I finished my schooling. Since then I have built up my clientele and work fulltime. I have amazing clients that I am truly honored to serve that come see me regularly, and that I proudly call my friends.
